Choose a party soundtrack everyone can enjoy

The right song can bring a birthday child onto the dance floor or give a family celebration a moment everyone remembers. Choosing the music starts with the people in the room, not with the longest possible list of requests.

Pick a few favourites

Choose three or four songs that really matter to the person celebrating. Tell the entertainer why they are special and whether you have a particular moment in mind. That gives the music a personal starting point while leaving space to respond to the guests on the day.

For a children’s party, share the age range and ask for suitable versions of favourite tracks. A title alone may not identify the recording you mean, so include the artist where you can.

Say what to leave out

A short do-not-play list is useful too. Mention songs, themes or activities the birthday child would prefer to avoid. If a guest has a particular sensitivity or needs a quieter space, discuss that with the organiser and entertainer ahead of time.

There is no need to explain someone’s private circumstances to the whole group. Share only the practical information needed to make the celebration comfortable.

Leave room for the room

A party can change pace naturally. Children may need a pause, a food break or a different game; family guests may respond to an unexpected favourite. A useful request list supports that flexibility rather than requiring every song to happen in a fixed order.

Agree the cake or special announcement cue beforehand so the people involved know what to expect. Then let the entertainment bring the celebration together.

When you contact Discos & Magic, include your date, venue, guest ages and a few musical favourites. Those details help start a conversation about a party that feels like yours.
